G20 Summit 2023 New Delhi


India is the President country of the G20 Summit 2023 New Delhi, which is the 18th meeting of the G20 Group held in Bharat Mandapam International Exhibition-Convention Centre at Pragati Maidan on 9th and 10th September 2023, with the theme Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. Heads of Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States and European Union will discuss the various issues related to the Finance, Economy, Environment, Cryptocurrencies and others. The Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi greeted all the participating dignitaries against the backdrop of a mural of Konark Sun temple wheel in Odisha. Then at the beginning of the meeting, all of the members accepted PM Modi’s proposal of granting African Union a permanent membership. The Group will now be known as G21.

G20 passed Delhi declaration unanimously with a 100 percent consensus, overcoming major differences on the Russia-Ukraine war, as Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi called for ending global trust deficit. The Prime Minister launched the Global Bio-fuels Alliance of Brazil, Bharat, and the United States that will work together to produce and consume bio-fuels, along with other interested countries. The Prime Minister and President Joe Biden co-chaired a special event on Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment, in which Bharat, US, EU, Saudi Arabia and UAE, clinched a deal to set up ‘The India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor’ comprised of an Eastern Corridor connecting India to the Gulf region and a Northern Corridor connecting the Gulf region to Europe. It will include a railway and ship-rail transit network and road transport routes. President Joe Biden said, “I want to thank PM Modi for the real big deal, which is in sync with the current G20’s theme of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’.”

G20 special dinner has been hosted by the Honourable President of Bharat, Apart from foreign leaders and head of delegates, cabinet ministers, union ministers, minister of states, secretaries in the central government, distinguished guests, former Prime Ministers: Dr Manmohan Singh and H D Deve Gowda and Chief Ministers of all the states have been invited to the gala dinner held at the multi-function hall of Bharat Mandapam Saturday, Sept 09. President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the foreign guests standing against the backdrop of Nalanda University which was destroyed by the Muslim invaders. It aimed to show the world that we are not new intellectuals but the source of knowledge itself. G20 dignitaries enjoyed Bharateeya cuisine and music performed by 78 artists, showcasing country’s rich musical heritage.
