Balasore Train Accident

I am deeply saddened by the most unfortunate incident at Balasore and express my heartfelt condolences to the families of the people who died in the Odisha train accident! May God give them strength so they could bear up the difficult situation and may the departed rest in peace!

The Parties Boycotting the Inauguration of the New Parliament

The first Prime Minister made fun of the holy sengol because Indian tradition was a meaningless thing to him. It remained mislabelled as ‘the golden walking stick gifted to Nehru’ for years at the Allahabad Museum. PM Modi honoured the seers of Adeenam Mutt at his residence, placed great emphasis on the importance of the sacred Sengol and finally installed it in the Lok Sabha chamber, right next to the Speaker's chair, in the new Parliament building after havan puja ceremony. Furthermore, the parties that boycotted the ceremony to unveil the new Parliament do not want India to restore its pride and glory but rather want to cherish the memory of the slavery with a view to appease those who had lost their names, their faith, their identity and their self-esteem during the long period of subjection. The Inauguration of the New Parliament Building

  21 seers of Dharmapuram Adheenam from Chennai had handed over Sengol to Prime Minister at his residence on Saturday evening (27 May) before it was carried by PM Shri Narendra Modi to new Parliament building in a procession with the chants of ‘nadaswaram’ the next morning on Sunday (May 28). He prostrated himself before the Sengol and with Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla, performed a havan, puja as a ceremony to inaugurate the new Parliament building. High priests of Adheenams offered flowers to the historic sceptre and gave it to the Prime Minister, who installed it near the Lok Sabha Speaker’s chair in the new Parliament building. The Prime Minister sought blessings from them, after that unveiled the plaque to mark the inauguration of the much-awaited new Parliament building. He also felicitated the workers who contributed to the construction of the new Parliament House.
