प्रदूषण

गंगा और गऊ हमारे लिए परमात्मा के वरदान हैं | गंगा में स्नान करने व उसका जल पीने से कभी कोई रोग नहीं हो सकता और इसी के साथ यदि कोई गाय का दूध पीता है तो उससे अधिक कोई बलवान और बुद्धिमान नहीं हो सकता | हमारी माँ हमें अस्तित्व प्रदान करके अपने दूध से पोषित करती है और वही पोषण बाद में हमें गंगा और गऊ से प्राप्त होता है इसीलिए हमारे पूर्वजों ने हमें सिखाया गंगा और गौ भी हमारी माताएं हैं | कितने दुख की बात है कि आज हमने गंगा मैया को दूषित कर डाला है | कितने स्वार्थी हैं हम कि गऊ माता का दूध तो ले लेते हैं किंतु उसे पालने की ज़िम्मेदारी से बचते हुए उन्हें छुट्टा छोड़ देते हैं | कितने निष्कृष्ट हो गये हैं हम कि अपने बृद्ध मां बाप को बृद्धा आश्रम भेज देते हैं | भगवान ने दोनों देवता और राक्षस बनाया - राक्षस वे हैं जो अपनी माँ को खा जाते हैं, उसे दूषित करते हैं और देवता वे हैं जो उसका संरक्षण करते हुए उसकी सेवा करते हैं |

आज सुबह ५.०० बजे जब मैं सड़क पर पहुचा तब हमारे मोहल्ले के ८-१० वरिष्ठ पुरुषों का समूह मिला | हम लोग प्रातभ्रमण के लिए एक साथ हुए | उनमें से एक ने कहा, "आज कोहरा बहुत घना है |" मैने कहा, "यदि कोहरा होता तो ज़मीन कुछ तो गीली होती | मुझे लगता है यह सब धुआँ है |" तभी एक दूसरे ने कहा, "हाँ, यह तो सही है - मेरे नाक और गले में जलन हो रही है |" मैं जब वापस लौटा हूँ और सूरज निकालने का समय हो गया है तब जाकर कोहरे की बूँदें दिखीं हैं | यह स्थिति है, दिल्ली तो टीवी पर दिखती है किंतु बहराइच नहीं | मेरा मानना है ज्यों-ज्यों जनसंख्या बढ़ती है त्यों-त्यों जनसंख्या नियंत्रक घटक और प्रभावशाली होने लगती है | वैज्ञानिक कहते हैं वे सभ्यता का विकास कर रहे हैं - मैं कहता हूँ वे सभ्यता का विनाश कर रहे हैं | यदि मशीन का विकल्प है तो मनुष्य शारीरिक श्रम से जीविका अर्जित नहीं करेगा चाहे वह प्रकृति के प्रकोप से समाप्त क्यो न हो जाय |

एक व्यक्ति को कहीं जाना है तो वह अपने को धनी दिखाने के चक्कर में कार से जाएगा और चार लोगों की जगह सड़क पर अकेले घेरेगा | आजकल किस्त पर कार उपलब्ध होने की वजह से कारों का समुन्दर बन गया है | कार मोटर साइकिल इतनी की सड़क पर चलना मुश्किल होने लगा है | चारों तरफ पोलिथिन की थैली का ढेर और उससे उठता धुआँ | नेतागीरी और मनरेगा ने किसानों को निकम्मा बना दिया है | वे अब पशुपालन से बचते हैं जिसकी वजह से वे फसल मशीन से काटकर उसे जलाते हैं पहले वे हाथ से फसल काटते थे और पुआल को पशुओं को खिलाते थे | अँग्रेज़ी खाद ने गोबर की खाद को चलन से बाहर कर दिया है | प्राकृतिक सन्तुलन विगड़ रहा है | प्रदूषण के भयानक प्रकोप ने मानवता को घेर लिया है | दो विकल्प हैं : मेहनत करके जिओ या राजा बाबू बनकर मरो |   

युगपुरुष स्वामी परमानन्द जी महाराज के बहराइच में दो दिवसीय कार्यक्रमों पर एक रिपोर्ट

गुरुवार, 2 नवंबर 2017 को दोपहर 3.00 बजे परम पूज्य सद्गुरुदेव स्वामी परमानंद जी महाराज का बहराइच पदार्पण हुआ | वे श्री शीतल प्रसाद अग्रवाल जी के घर पर यात्रा के पश्चात विश्राम कर रहे थे | मैं उनसे वहाँ मिला और आग्रह किया कि गुरुदेव बहराइच के लोगों के लिए आपका क्या संदेश है ? उत्तर में उन्होने कहा, "यह देश सबका है | इस देश की प्रतिष्ठा और इसका विकास सबको मिलना चाहिए वह भले ही किसी जाति, वर्ग या संप्रदाय का क्यों न हो |" मैने उनसे फिर प्रश्न किया, “गुरुदेव इस बार आप केवल 24 घण्टों के लिए बहराइच आए हुए हैं ? उन्होने कहा, "इस बार मैं 'स्वामी परमानन्द शिक्षा निकेतन खमरिया शुक्ल' के वार्षिकोत्सव व वहाँ कंप्यूटर शिक्षा के शुभारम्भ हेतु आया हूँ | आज जिस युग का आरम्भ हो चुका है उसमें प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को डिजिटल ज्ञान आवश्यक हो गया है | प्रधान मंत्री मोदी जी ई-भुगतान के साथ-साथ लगभग सारे सार्वजनिक कार्य व सुविधाओं को डिजिटलाइज़ करने पर ज़ोर दे रहे है और ऐसा आवश्यक भी है क्योंकि देश के विकास के लिए बाकी विकसित देशों के साथ कदम से कदम मिला कर हमें चलना ही होगा | हमारे ग्रामीण क्षेत्र का एक बड़ा भाग आज भी अशिक्षित है | अतः हमें उसे केवल शिक्षित ही नहीं करना है अपितु उन्हें कंप्यूटर सम्बन्धी ज्ञान भी कराना अति आवश्यक हो गया है | मैं चाहता हूँ कि इस विद्यालय के छोटे-छोटे विद्यार्थी कंप्यूटर चलाना सीखें और यह विद्यालय इसके लिए एक प्रेरणा श्रोत बने |"

दिनांक 2 नवंबर 2017 को सायं 7.00 बजे पूज्य सद्गुरुदेव डालमिया धर्मशाला में :

एक बड़ी संख्या में श्रद्धालू डालमिया धर्मशाला में पूज्य सद्गुरुदेव स्वामी परमानन्द जी महाराज के अशीर्वचनो को प्राप्त करने हेतु एकत्रित थे | श्री राकेश रस्तोगी जी ने गुरुदेव के स्वागत में गीत गाये तथा श्री मोहन लाल जी गोयल ने गुरु महिमा के भजन को प्रस्तुत किया | सर्वश्री शीतल प्रसाद अग्रवाल, पुरुषोत्तम दास अग्रवाल, कैलाश नाथ डालमिया, नंद कुमार माहेश्वरी, विजय यादव, रमेश तिवारी, रमाकांत जी गोयल, मस्त राम, मदन लाल रस्तोगी, नन्द कुमार जायसवाल, मदन अवस्थी, हृषिकेश मिश्र, कन्हैया लाल श्रीवास्तव, सनत कुमार शुक्ल, देवेन्द्र पांडे, राज कुमार सिंह आदि ने गुरुदेव का मल्यार्पण करके स्वागत किया |

स्वामी ज्योतिर्मयानंद जी महाराज ने अपने उद्बोधन में सन्त की व्याख्या करते हुए कहा कि मैने जो कुछ नहीं किया उसका फल मुझे कोई नहीं दे सकता | देवता भी विना स्वार्थ के कुछ नहीं देते - या तो परमात्मा या सन्त ही ऐसे हैं जो हमसे कुछ लिए विना हमें सब कुछ देते रहते हैं | 'ब्रिक्ष कबहु न फल भखे नदी न सन्चय नीर' संत इस प्रकृति का होता है | सन्त की समीपता से हमें पुन्यात्मा और सदाचारी बनने का अवसर प्राप्त होता है | 'पर दुख द्रवय सो सन्त पुनीता |' उन्होने कहा आपका धर्म सर्व श्रेष्ठ है, उसे गाली मत दो | जब कोई दूसरे संप्रदाय का व्यक्ति हमारे धर्म की आलोचना करता है तब उतना बुरा नहीं लगता है जितना कि जब आप स्वयं उसके विषय में भला-बुरा कहते हो | ईश्वर कभी अपने को ईश्वर की तरह नहीं प्रस्तुत करता बल्कि जो ईश्वर नहीं है केवल वही ईश्वर की तरह अपने को पेश करता है |

“15 से 23 नवंबर 2017 के बीच मवई धाम में वृष्णु यग्य, भागवत कथा, भंडारा तथा साथ में 71 निर्धन कन्याओं का सामूहिक विवाह समारोह संपन्न होने जा रहा है |” पूज्य गुरुदेव ने इस सूचना के साथ बहराइच के लोगों को उसमें शामिल होने का निमत्रण दिया | गुरुदेव ने कहा ग़रीब को देख लो अमीर हो जाओगे, अमीर को देख लो ग़रीब हो जाओगे | आपको बड़े होने के लिए आपको मवई धाम बुलाया जा रहा है | उन्होने आगे कहा कि आपकी कमाई तभी सार्थक है जब आपका धन आपके या किसी असहाय के काम आवे | उन्होने प्रधान मंत्री मोदी जी की प्रशंसा करते हुए कहा कि वे चाहते हैं कि भारत ऐसा हो, वैसा हो और कितनी जल्दी वह विकसित देशों जैसा हो | किंतु केवल एक व्यक्ति के सोचने से इतने बड़े देश में कुछ नहीं हो सकता | इसमें पूरे देश के सहयोग की आवश्यकता है | फिर भी हमें विकास और परिवर्तन के नाम पर अपनी संस्कृति से समझौता नहीं करना है | हम गाय पालें, खुद खेती से खाने का अन्न उपजाएँ, प्राचीन पध्यति को लाने की कोशिश करें ताकि यूरिया या कीटनाशक रसायन से होने वाली बीमारियों से बच सकें |

दिनांक 3 नवंबर 2017 को पूज्य सद्गुरुदेव ‘स्वामी परमानन्द शिक्षा निकेतन, खमरिया शुक्ल’ में :

स्वामी परमानन्द शिक्षा निकेतन, खमरिया शुक्ल ने एक भारी जन समुदाय की उपस्थिति में अपना वार्षिकोत्सव मनाया | इस कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता विद्यालय के संस्थापक पूज्य सद्गुरुदेव स्वामी परमानन्द जी महाराज ने की और महसी क्षेत्र के विधायक श्री सुरेश्वर सिंह जी इसमें मुख्य अतिथि थे | विद्यालय के बच्चों ने बड़े ही मनमोहक शैक्षिक व सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत किए जिनमें साकेत मिश्र ने अँग्रेज़ी में पूज्य सद्गुरुदेव की महिमा पर भाषण दिया, एक छोटे से बच्चे अभिनव बाजपेयी ने एक सुंदर अग्रेज़ी की कविता सुनाई, रिमझिम मिश्रा ने हिन्दी में राष्ट्र प्रेम पर आधारित एक गीत प्रस्तुत किया, इसके अतिरिक्त शिव पूजन, सीमा देवी, सीता, अंतिमा, निशा, प्रियंका मिश्रा, प्रियांशी, महिमा अन्शु आदि ने योगासन व गीत, नृत्य और नाटक प्रस्तुत किए | इनके प्रदर्शन को देखकर सभी दर्शक मंत्र मुग्ध हो गये | ये कार्यक्रम संगीत अध्यापक श्री आशुतोष पांडे व पंकज कुमार शुक्ल के निर्देशन में संपन्न हुए |

विद्यालय को श्री शीतल प्रसाद अग्रवाल के द्वारा कंप्यूटर सेट प्रदान किए गये थे | इसकी शिक्षा सत्र का उदघाटन पूज्य गुरुदेव की कृपा छत्र में मुख्य अतिथि श्री सुरेश्वर सिंह के द्वारा किया गया | मुख्य अतिथि ने उस क्षेत्र के निवासियों को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि यह विद्यालय एक संत पुरुष का वरदान है | यहाँ तो पूज्य महाराज श्री के नाम से इण्टर कालेज व महाविद्यालय खुलना चाहिए - क्षेत्र को इसकी आवश्यकता है | उन्होने ग्राम वासियों से कहा कि आप लोग जिस गुरु से श्रद्धा रखते हैं उन्हें गाय से बड़ी श्रद्धा है | कम से कम पूज्य गुरुदेव से इसकी प्रेरणा प्राप्त करो और अपनी गौओं को दूध लेने के बाद छुट्टा छोड़ना बन्द कर दो | मोदी जी की वजह से गाय कटना बन्द हो गई और उनकी कीमतें कम हो गई | इसका मतलब यह नहीं है कि आप लोग गाय पालन ही बन्द कर दो और इससे होनी वाली अव्यवस्था का दोष सरकार के मत्थे मढ़ दो | एक गाय पालकर विना अँग्रेज़ी खाद व कीटनाशक दवाओं के खेती किया जा सकता है | आप लोग गौओं को छुट्टा करके भारत को विश्व गुरु बनाओगे ? उन्होने विद्यालय प्राचार्य श्री हरी नाथ मिश्र के अनुरोध पर विद्यालय के लिए कई सूबिधाओं की घोषणा की जिनमें सड़क, पानी, विजली आदि शामिल हैं |

एक बड़ी संख्या में श्रद्धालुओं को संबोधित करते हुए परम पूज्य सद्गुरुदेव स्वामी परमानन्द जी महराज ने कहा कि विभिन्न प्रदेशों के स्कूलों में भोजन वितरण एक अनावश्यक कार्य है | इसके कई दुष्परिणाम देखने को मिले हैं | अतः इस विषय पर राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर विचार होना चाहिए | प्रदेश में शिक्षा सुधार के लिए मुख्य मंत्री योगी जी की गंभीर सोच की उन्होने सराहना की और कहा कि प्रधान मंत्री मोदी जी के इरादे बहुत अच्छे हैं | वे काश्मीर की व नक्सलवाद की समस्या को समाप्त करके ही रहेंगे | दुख है कि विरोधी पार्टियाँ उन्हें ठीक से काम नहीं करने देतीं | उन्होने ज़ोर देकर कहा कि अगले चुनाव में यदि मोदी जी असफल होते हैं तो यह असफलता उनकी नहीं होगी अपितु सारे देश की होगी |

गुरुदेव ने कहा कि भगवान कहते हैं कि शैतान से मनुष्य बनो किन्तु ऐसे सिखाने वाले हैं जो आतंकवादी बनाते हैं | मन्दिर बन भी जाय तो क्या गारन्टी कि लोग उसे फिर नहीं तोड़ेंगे | हम वह भारत चाहते हैं जिसमें विकास के साथ अपनी संस्कृति की सुरक्षा भी हो | इसलिए आज हमें संगठित होने की नितांत आवश्यकता है | स्त्री पागल हो जाय किंतु वह नंगी नहीं हो सकती, वहीं यदि पुरुष पागल हो जाय तो वह नंगा पहले होगा | हमारा संस्कार रहा तो ये बेटियाँ पागल भी हो जाएँगी तो भी वेधर्म नहीं होगीं | पत्नियों को धर्म-पत्नी क्यों कहा गया क्योंकि यदि धर्म है तो पत्नियाँ हैं | देश के लिए कोई समय समर्पित करता है, कोई धन समर्पित करता है और कोई जीवन ही समर्पित कर देता है | ऐसे सपर्पण की आज हर स्तर पर आवश्यकता है | तब ही जाकर हमारा देश और संस्कार सुरक्षित हो सकते हैं | इस देश में आधुनिक शिक्षा ने ईश्वर का डर ही समाप्त कर दिया है इसी वजह से आज समाज विकृत अवस्था में पहुच गया है | बच्चों में संस्कार डालो टीवी से संस्कार सीखना बंद करो | बड़े ख़तरे हैं - यदि धर्म नहीं है तो कौन बचाएगा ! उन्होने कहा योगी जी और मोदी जी दोनो ही लगे हुए हैं | मैं प्रधान मंत्री के दीर्घ आयु की कामना करता हूँ ताकि वे एक बार और प्रधान मंत्री बनकर देश को सुरक्षित स्थिति में करने में सफल हों | यदि धर्म नहीं है तो आपको कौन बचाएगा ? गुरुदेव ने भी लोगों से कहा कि मैं गाय से लगा हूँ तुम भी गाय से लगो यदि मुझसे प्रेम करते हो |

भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम, बहराइच में हिन्दी दिवस

भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम परंपरागत रूप से १४ सितंबर से प्रारंभ एक पखवाड़े तक हिन्दी भाषा पर विभिन्न कार्यक्रम आयोजित करती है | बहराइच शाखा ने अब तक उन कार्यक्रमों को क्रमबद्ध ढंग से करते हुए आज हिन्दी भाषा पर आधारित माननीय मुख्य प्रबंधक, श्री टी. आर. मिश्र, की अध्यक्षता में एक गोष्ठी का आयोजन किया |

जिसमें मुख्य अतिथि किसान डिग्री कालेज के हिन्दी के विभागाध्यक्ष डाक्टर नीरज कुमार पांडेय ने विस्तार पूर्वक हिन्दी भाषा और हिन्दी साहित्य पर व्याख्यान दिया | उन्होने सभा को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि “हिन्दी की लिपि देवनागरी अत्यंत ही वैज्ञानिक है । यह विश्व भर में नब्बे करोड़ लोगों के द्वारा बोली जाती हैं । संस्कृत से नवीन शब्द रचना और शव्द संपदा हिन्दी को विरासत में प्राप्त है । अन्य भाषाओं के शब्दो सहित देशी बोलियों के अपार शब्द संग्रह उसे संप्रेषण की उच्चतम क्षमता प्रदान करते हैं । भारत को स्वतंत्र कराने में हिन्दी का महत्वपूर्ण योगदान था और आज भी वह देश में राष्ट्र प्रेम की भावना को प्रवाहित कर रही है । १४ सितम्बर सन् १९४९ को हिन्दी को भारत की राजभाषा के रूप में स्वीकार किया गया था जबकि वह राष्ट्र भाषा की अधिकारिणी है ।“

इसके पश्चात मुख्य अतिथि डाक्टर अशोक गुलशन ने अपने मधुरिम काव्य व ग़ज़लों से सभा में उपस्थित अधिकारी और कर्मचारी समूह के मन को मुग्ध कर दिया:

"समय के साथ मिलकर काम करना बुद्धिमानी है,

हमेशा जिंदगी में एक से अवसर नहीं आते |

तुम्हारे प्यार के खत को लगा दी है नज़र किसने ,

बहुत दिन से कबूतर अब हमारे घर नहीं आते |"

कार्यक्रम का संचालन रमेश चन्द्र तिवारी ने किया और हिन्दी पर अपनी स्वरचित पंक्तियों को पढ़ते हुए कहा:

“तुम्हें नकल ही करनी है तो हिन्दी साथ नहीं देगी,

जिसकी नकल करोगे केवल उसकी ही जै-जै होगी ।

अँग्रेज़ों के जूठन को अँग्रेज़ी जीभ चाट सकती !

यह अब भी इतनी सक्षम जो हिन्दुस्तान बाँट सकती ।“

श्री बजरंग कुमार मिश्र, श्री रन्जुल गौतम तथा श्री सालोमन मनीष कुमार सिंह  ने सभा को संबोधित करते हुए अपनी कविताएँ भी पढ़ीं | अंत मे आदरणीय मुख्य प्रबंधक श्री टी. आर. मिश्र ने भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम के व्यवसाय में हिन्दी के योगदान पर प्रकाश डाला साथ ही जनपद के विशिष्ट हस्ताक्षर हमारे दोनों मुख्य अतिथियों को गोष्ठी का गौरव बढ़ाने हेतु आभार व्यक्त किया | सर्वश्री योगेश त्रिपाठी, इंद्रनील, संतोष मिश्र, रेवाश्री अवस्थी, विनय कुमार सिंह, बुलन्द मोहम्मद इकरामा, कृष्ण सुवन शुक्ल, अरविंद कुमार सिंह राठौर, सत्य देव, आदि ने गोष्ठी में भाग लिया |   

BHU

If the university administration cannot provide a safe evening for girl students, it has no right to use police force against the girl protesters at BHU. However, liberty and security cannot go hand in hand in the case of girls. Often girls do not show self-restraint. It is not because they do not want to show but because they are helpless against their natural instinct. So girls are as bad as boys – they attract problems. Practically speaking, the administration did no wrong to impose ban on their evening strolls. BHU is BHU – it should not go like JNU where the campus stinks of perversity.   

माँ दुर्गा

माँ के आँचल में ही हम माँ को खोजा करते हैं,
माँ के दर्शन उनको होते माँ प्रेमी जो होते हैं ।

सागर तेरे चरण धुलें माँ चँवर डुलावे पुरवाई,
दिशा दिशाएं कीरति गावें वन बागों की शहनाई ।
धरती पर सब तेरे बच्चे उछल-कूद माँ करते हैं,
माँ के दर्शन उनको होते माँ प्रेमी जो होते हैं ।

सारा नभ दरबार सज़ा माँ सूर्य चंद्र से आलोकित,
निशा दिवस पहरे देते हैं तारों से मण्डप शोभित ।
मेघों के संगीत सुहाने मन मोहित कर लेते हैं,
माँ के दर्शन उनको होते माँ भक्ति जो करते हैं ।

माँ के आँचल में रहकर हम माँ को खोजा करते हैं,
माँ के दर्शन उनको होते माँ प्रेमी जो होते हैं ।

इस संपूर्ण ब्रह्माण्ड में दो चीज़ें हैं: ऊर्जा (energy) और द्रव्य (matter) | हमारे सनातन प्राचीन चिंतकों ने मां दुर्गा को ऊर्जा के प्रतीक रूप में प्रस्तुत किया है तथा मां लक्ष्मी को द्रव्य के | अब देखिए इन्हीं दोनो से इस ब्रह्माण्ड में सारी चीज़ें पैदा हुई हैं | ऊर्जा स्वयं से कुछ नहीं करती जब तक उस पर नियंत्रण रख कर एक विशेष उद्देश्य से प्रयोग न किया जाय और यह कार्य ब्रह्माण्ड में उपस्थित एक महचेतना करती है जिसे सदाशिव के रूप में प्रस्तुत किया गया है | द्रव्य को हम आप मुद्रा भी समझते हैं जबकि हमारी आवश्यकताओं को जो भी चीज़ पूरी करती है वास्तव में वही द्रव्य है | इसीलिए ब्रह्माण्ड में स्थित संपूर्ण द्रव्य (पदार्थ) को महालक्ष्मी कहा गया है और जिस महाचेतना के द्वारा वह नियंत्रित होकर प्रत्येक इकाई को उसकी आवश्यकतानुसार प्राप्त होती है उसे नारायण कहा गया है | इस प्रकार आज संसार, नभ, नक्षत्र, तारे सबकी जननी की आराधना का पवित्र दिन हैं - चलो मां का आशीर्वाद और उसका प्रेम प्राप्त करें | सबको नवरात्रि की शुभकामनाएँ !

Myself

Ramesh Chandra Tiwari is presently working for Life Insurance Corporation of India. He was promoted to Assistant Administrative Officer in 2009 but he downshifted the same year because of his passion for creative writing. He graduated in Hindi, English and Economics from Avadh University, Faizabad in 1984 but he completed a master’s degree in English Literature after twenty years from the same university in 2004. His return to education after a long gap awakened a new love for learning in him. He studied English grammar and then got into the habit of reading different literature books, which later inspired him to write prose, poetry and fiction. He has written 18 short stories, 25 short shorts, 5 nonfictions and a number of poems, in the years since.

The Teacher of Kabir’, one of his essays appeared in ‘Reading Hour’ Bangalore and two of them, ‘On Being Distinguished and ‘A No-Party Democracy’ in The Galaxy. His poems ‘The Human Population’ and ‘Florian’ is published in the Criterion. The criterion has also published his six short stories: A Wad of Notes, Possessiveness Brings Life; the Excesses, an End, Our Inspirations are the Will of God, You dilly-dally?, The Poverty Trap, God is Even-handed. Five of his short stories: The Bus Ticket, The Girl, The Hermit and His Disciples, Hari-Ki-Pauri have appeared in Galaxy. LANLIT published his Walls of Hesitation and The Bombay Review Pseudo-Ostentation.

On May 1, 1964, Ramesh Chandra Tiwari was born into a humble family that lives in a backward village of India named Umari Dahelo and depends on farming. During that time, his family barely made ends meet with what his father Prahlad Kumar Tiwari earned, so when he grew up to be a boy, he had to work on the farm, which gave him little chance of receiving proper schooling. However, he managed somehow to complete his primary and junior education in government schools in the nearby villages. In 1978 he was sent to Bahraich to continue his studies but his father could not afford to pay his school and boarding fees for long and asked him to come back home. Ramesh had a passion for studies so he chose to balance it with and to scrape a living from, part-time tutoring.

Ramesh went to Raipur, now the capital city of Chattisgarh, in 1984 with the aim of finding a job, and there he got a temporary job in a corporate office. Now for the first time in his life, he felt in command of his life. In 1987, he chanced to meet a group of poets who invited him to become a member of Hindi Sahitya Mandal, Raipur. It was here that he developed an interest in literature and composed a number of verses in Hindi. Varshagaman Geet, Basant Shubhagaman Geet, Sacha beer, Conference, Ek ho Jayen agar, Jaroorat hai ek neta ki and many other poems appeared in Newspapers and magazines. Akasvani Raipur also broadcasted a few of his poems. He participated in a lot many Public Poetry readings and was often greeted with cheers by a wide audience. He was elected Secretary of the Sahitya Mandal in 1988, but he could not continue in this position for long because he took up permanent employment with Life Insurance Corporation in 1989 and his first posting was in Dalli Rajhara.

In 1990 when he visited his home to Umari Dahelo, he found that the situation had worsened: his old mud house had collapsed; his father was heavily in debt and his fields lay unploughed and unsown. The plight of his family shook up his emotions and soon after he was back at work, he applied for a transfer to the corporation’s Bahraich Branch. A few months later, his transfer request was granted. Back in his hometown in Sept 1991, he turned his attention to his family and worked day and night to repay the loans which his father had borrowed from the banks and to get his family back on track. Finally, he succeeded in not only re-establishing his family business but also in developing it, but this led him to a catastrophe as his father, with a view to taking control of the business again, started to get in the way of his work. His brothers too tended to want to become his obstacles. Since he knew that the financial condition would revert to previous state and all his efforts would be in vain if he withdrew from the business activities, it came as a shock to him and induced a stroke that completely paralyzed his right side in 1997.

The long illness tore his life apart. He took out heavy loan against his salary to meet his medical expenses and the total amount of deductions exceeded 75 percent of salary. He recovered from the illness in 2000 but was forced to live a hand-to- mouth existence again. Anyway, he left his village in 2001 and settled at Bahraich with his wife Shiv kumari and two daughters Neelu and Princy in order to escape tension. It was still not the end of the problems. Now he noticed that the tranquilizer he had been taking had caused him to lose all his knowledge. He was lying in his bed one night thinking about what he should do. Suddenly it occurred to him that he should return to education to do an MA in English. He received official permission and applied for admission as a private candidate the following session 2002-2003.

Honoured as an English Writer

Today Kisan Degree college, Bahraich hosted a poetry reading under the banner of ‘The KDC Alumni Association and Hindi Department’. In his inaugural Address, the president of the college, Shri Jata Shanker Singh, expressed his gratitude to the poets and the audience and encouraged the participants. The principal, Mr S. P. Singh honoured a few well-known poets of the district like Shri Radha Krishna Pathik, DR Ashok Gulshan, Shri Atul Awasthi Atul and Dr Radhey Shyam Pandey. The event was very enlightening and entertaining. Dr Vivek Dixit anchored the meet and Dr Neeraj Kumar Pandey, the head of the department of Hindi, preceded his speech with a vote of thanks to the conference.
I am extremely grateful to the Association’s Secretary, Dr Vivek Dixit for inviting me to the grand poetry reading event hosted by KDC Alumni Association and Hindi Department. And at the same time I am deeply grateful to Dr Shiv Prasad Singh for honouring me as an English writer of the district. I used to be a student of English Literature at this college (1984 to 1987). When I visit the college, every wall of it, the lawn, the rooms speak to me and remind me of those golden college days.

Kajari Teej

The best devotee of God is he who forgets himself to remember Him. If you have a little notion about your own existence left in your mind, you can by no means know who the Creator is. He is the maker, the destroyer is He; He is both energy and sense; He is corporeal and also abstract; he is movement and stillness is He; He is all and all is He. Mahadev is Mahakal, the great sense of the universe and Mahadevi, the great energy that makes the universe work. Today is Kajari Teej when Mahadev and Madevi were married. It is a very pious day – let’s celebrate the marriage anniversary of the Father and the Mother of this Being that has no beginning, nor any end.

सरकार तो बदली

यहाँ सरकार तो बदली, मगर सिस्टम नहीं बदला
कमीशन वो भी खाते थे, कमीशन ये भी खाते हैं |
हैं बदले खेल के पाले, मगर टीमें नहीं बदलीं
तब म के लोग पागल थे, अब ह के लोग पागल हैं |
कभी भी काम करने से, यहाँ सत्ता नहीं मिलती
बनाते वो भी पागल थे, बनाते ये भी पागल हैं |
मरी जनता हमेशा थी, कहर जनता पे अब भी है
वो तब भी मौज करते थे, वो अब भी मौज करते हैं |
कुछ ने क़ानून को कुचला, कुछ ने क़ानून से खेला
वही सब लोग तब भी थे, वही सब लोग अब भी हैं |
ये हिन्दुस्तान की धरती, घने बादल निरखती है
लूट ले घर कोई चाहे, ये टुकड़ों पे ही बिकती है |
किसी के पास चन्दा है, कहीं वोटों की गंगा है
वेचारी बीच की जनता, न मरती है न जीती है |
कमाती है युवा जनता, उड़ाती खूब जनता है
उन्हें पप्पू की चिंता है, इन्हें टीपू की चिंता है |

गुरु पूर्णिमा

Gududev Shankara was born about 788 C.E. and at rest at the young age of 32. In this short life span, what he did is impossible for the people of many generations. He travelled the whole country to revive Sanatana, establishing four Peethas on the four edges of it: Sringeri in the South, Jagannath in the East, Dwarika in the West and Badrikashram in the north. He believed in Vedant philosophy and Strict Monism was his doctorine as he argued that it is true we, through our senses, experience the continuous process of Brahma’s creation of phenomenal universes with worlds and planets in which both sentient and insentient originate, grow and end up, but this form of Brahman is illusory. Brahman, the impersonal God or the universal soul is without attributes, characteristics or shape and form. There is nothing that is not identical to something else. In fact, our minds are customised to a particular setting which enables us to see indistinguishable Brahman having different things and by separating us from the rest causes us to live in fear and confusion. He showed that we can recognize monism by meditation and finally obtain salvation, a life without human worries. The quintessence of his philosophy is 'Brahma Satyam Jagan Mithya Jivo Brahmaiva Na Aparah ' Brahman is absolute and therefore real; the world as we find in our everyday life is unreal; and there is no difference between an individual soul and Brahman.

The true love that a mother shares with her baby, the depth of love that lovers share with each other is equal to one-hundredth of what the Sadguru shares with his disciple. Those who have the opportunity to be with such a dearest kin enjoy the company of God Himself – for they often hand over every responsibility to him and live care free life. Gurudev is not Purush, not Mahapurush and not even Yugpurush, though he looks like that. In fact, he is the embodiment of the characteristic that the Universe has. O man, what you know was taught to you by this world, by the universe! Just read the cosmos and you will find it to be Brahma; to be Vishnu; and also to be Shiva. Now realize it is the Supreme Brahman and offer thy adoration unto that peerless Being. Rise above the world in your mind, you'll see there the true form of sadgurudev, the sense itself which is Parmatma where peace dwells and happiness looks you after.

We try to know almost everything that the universe consists of, but we seldom try to know who we are, what we are for, what relation we have with the big Father and all that is in us. In fact, if we find the right answers to these questions, we will be able to find answers to every question and it is Sadgurudev who can make it possible for us. A sense of deep peace and spiritual enlightenment is the absolute sense. Today is Guru Purnima – let us worship Him who introduces us to Himself i.e. to God.

We are controlled by three layers of administration. The family head, the head of the nation and the head of the universe (Sadguru) are the different rulers who take care of us and make atmosphere for us to lead an easy life. The head of the family and nation may sometimes lose their sense of belonging or ownership and be careless or selfish, but the Supreme Sadguru is the sole owner of the world and can by no means ignore the interest of any creature. He looks the world as a whole and also into the need of every individual. He gives us food, water, shelter and favourable conditions.

Spiritual pursuit leads to peace and thus makes your mind pure and healthy. It does not violate the laws of nature but makes your mind capable of achieving your goal because God operates everybody by their minds. So let’s spare a few moments for some spiritual cause – not because we want to escape our work and duties but because we have got to rest our tired and exhausted mind. Sadgurudev is the sun that spreads spiritual light in the universe of heart and mind. Well, the sun can brighten several planets but the darkness in the heart remains unless it is open to receive the celestial light of a Sadguru’s teachings.

गुरु पूर्णिमा का त्योहार भारत और नेपाल में बड़ी श्रद्धा के साथ मनाया जाता है | परम्परागत रूप में इस आध्यात्मिक महापर्व को हिंदू, बुद्धिस्ट तथा जैन लोग मानते हैं | इसके माध्यम से लोग अपने गुरु को आदर व आभार अर्पित करते हैं | सनातन धर्म में आदि काल से गुरु और गोविन्द का स्थान समान माना गया है | यह गुरु वशिष्ठ की कृपा थी जिसके परिणाम स्वरूप महाराज दशरथ को चार श्रेष्ठ पुत्रों की प्राप्ति हुई थी | गुरु द्रोण ने अर्जुन जैसा महाप्रतापी योद्धा तैयार किया जिसने स्वयं भगवान कृष्ण के उद्देश्य की पूर्ति के लिए अधम अभिमानियों को समाप्त कर संसार में धर्म की स्थापना की थी | 

आज गुरु पूर्णिमा है – वर्ष का सबसे पवित्र दिन | आज हम लोग अपने गुरु की पूजा करते हैं और उनका आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करते हैं | मान्यता है कि गुरु की सेवा और उनकी आराधना मात्र से सभी देवता प्रसन्न हो जाते हैं और फिर किसी दूसरी पूजा और आराधना की आवश्यकता नहीं रह जाती | पूर्वजों ने कहा है :

गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णुर्गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः ।
गुरुरेव परं ब्रह्म तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥१॥ 

 
बन्दऊ गुरु पद कंज, कृपा सिंधु नर रूप हरि |
महा मोह तम पुंज, जासू बचन रवि कर निकर ||
महाराज तुलसी दास

मैं ऐसे गुरु के चरण कमलों की बन्दना करता हूँ जो कृपा के सागर हैं, मनुष्य रूप में स्वयं नारायण हैं और जिनके बचन सूर्य के हाथ से शतत निकलती किरण धाराएँ हैं जो माया मोह के घोर अंधकार को समाप्त कर देती हैं |

तुम जितना रूठो मुझसे

जी चाहे जितना मुझे सताओ

मानव मर चुका है

मानव मानव नहीं

वह तो भयानक दानव है !

वह चिड़िया खा जाता है,

जानवर खा जाता है, गाय बैल खा जाता है,

चींटी, साँप, छिपकली खा जाता है |

उससे जलचर, थलचर, नभचर सब प्राण बचाकर भागते है

क्योंकि वह सब खा जाता है |

और तो और मानव मानव को हजम कर जाता है,

वह अपने ही भाई-बंधुओं की थाली उठाकर भाग जाता है,

वह माँ, बहनों की इज़्ज़त से खेलता है,

मक्कारी के फन्दे फेकता है, 

अच्छा बुरा कुछ नहीं देखता,

बस अपनी ही रोटियाँ सेकता है |

उसके लिए न ईश्वर है न अल्लाह है –

वह तो उन्हें शरेआम बेचता है |

उसके हृदय में मोहब्बत सूख चुका है,

घृणा, स्वार्थ के शोलों से दिल धधक रहा है,

वह प्रेत है, प्रेतात्मा है

मानव मर चुका है |

Impossible Customer

Hirannyakashyapu was butchered during his attempt to kill Bhakt Prahlad, his own son. But before that Holika, who could burn the entire world with her evil magic, had been guzzled like fuel while trying to burn the baby Bhakt. This occasion was celebrated by the people who restored Faith by being inspired by Prahlad, their young leader. They strewed flowers, sprayed fragrance, danced, sang devotional songs, and then hugged each other by being excited with their first victory over a long-term tyranny. Dear brothers and sisters come on – let’s enjoy this Holi as we have now elected a good government after being oppressed by the two reckless ruling parties for a long time. Happy, Happy Holiiiiii.....haiiiiii !!!

Holi brings us love, harmony and lively celebration of the emergence of liberty, order and prosperity. May your life be a rainbow with different colours of achievements one after the other! May happiness keep dancing on the floor of your heart to the music of your accomplishments! May you enjoy fresh dishes of increasing riches on the table of the country this New Samvat under the long awaited Government of yours own!

राजनीतिक पार्टियाँ

प्राचीन समय में लोग अपने अपने कबूतरों को रंग कर रखते थे | आज राजनीतिक पार्टियाँ अपने अपने समर्थकों को धर्मनिरपेक्षता, सांप्रदायिकता, जातीयता आदि रंगों से लगातार रंगती रहती है ताकि वे किसी दूसरे के आँगन में न उतर जाएँ |

किसी ने कहा कि राजनीतिक पार्टियाँ एक दूसरे के खिलाफ ऐसा आग उगलती हैं कि मानों वे उनके जन्म-जन्मान्तर के दुश्मन हों | मैने कहा कोई एक दूसरे का दुश्मन नहीं है - आपको ऐसा लगता है | सच कहिए, ये सभी जनता के दुश्मन हैं, या उसकी कमज़ोरी का लाभ उठाने वाले लोग हैं |

सारी राजनीतिक पार्टियाँ संयुक्त रूप में एक ड्रामा कम्पनी हैं | इसमें हर एक के रोल आपस में पूर्व निर्धारित हैं | कोई धर्म निरपेक्षता का किरदार निभा रहा है तो कोई हिंदूवादी या मुस्लिमवादी का | कोई इस जाति के मसीहा का डायलाग याद किए है तो कोई उस जाति के | कोई आम आदमी के मेकअप में खास आदमी के खिलाफ मंच तोड़ रहा है तो कोई सान्ता के लिबास में घर-घर उपहार बाटने की अदाकारी कर रहा है | इसमें कुछ ऐसे कुशल अदाकार भी हैं जो समय-समय पर हर तरह के पात्रों की भूमिका निभाते रहते हैं | जो भी हो, इस कंपनी का अंतिम उद्देश्य दर्शकों को आकर्षित करना है और गीतों और भावभंगिमा के माध्यम से उनकी भावनाओं को गहराई से उद्देलित करके उन्हें संवेदनाओं के नशे में धुत कर देना होता है ताकि वे समझ न सकें कि उन्होने कितना इनाम उन पर निछावर कर दिया है | जैसे मुज़रा का शौक करने वाला व्यक्ति अंततः सड़क पर आ जाता है आज उसी तरह राजनीतिक कोठे की चौखट पर भारतीय जनता अपना सब कुछ गवाँ कर असहाय पड़ी है

दुख है, सारी पार्टियों के नेताओं की आपसी मोहब्बत देखकर भी जनता इनके बयानों को सही मानती है और आपस में बटती है | अरे भाई, जैसे सारी पार्टियों के नेता एक हैं यदि सारी जनता एक हो जाय तो नेताओं द्वारा लूट कब का नहीं समाप्त हो जाय | कुल मिलाकर, दिन प्रतिदिन हमारा प्रजातंत्र शातिर होते जा रहा है और इसका इलाज़ शिर्फ जनता के पास ही है |

जंगल का शासक कौन होता है ? वही जिससे अन्य सभी भयभीत होते हैं | यही नियम मानव समाज के लिए भी लागू होता है | शक्ति दो रूपों में होती है: बाहुबल और बुद्धिबल | फिर भी ये दोनों धनबल के गुलाम हैं | सत्ता से धनबल को दूर रखने के लिए या उसमें आम व्यक्ति की भागीदारी हेतु प्रजातंत्र का अविष्कार किया गया | अब जब प्रजातंत्र की मूल भावना ही समाप्त हो गई है, तो किस बात का प्रजातंत्र ? यह सब ऐसा इसलिए होता चला जा रहा है क्योंकि समय-समय पर चुनाव प्रणाली में संशोधन नहीं किए गये | विडम्बना यह है कि इस संशोधन को भी वही कर सकते हैं जो इसके लाभार्थी हैं और परिणाम स्वरूप केवल कुछ लोग ही या उनकी अगली पीढ़ी ही घूम फिर कर सत्ता पर काबिज है | प्रजातंत्र केवल तब तक है जब तक सत्ता स्वतंत्र है | यदि वह शाही महलों में क़ैद है तो आम जनता के लिए फिर क्या बचा ? वही कि दूब की तरह वह उगती रहे ताकि दुर्योधन, दुस्सासन या शिशुपाल उसे नोच-नोच कर खाएँ और अपने अहंकार की भूख मिटाने के लिए जितना चाहें अत्याचार करें |

A Quest for God

The Criterion Published ‘A Quest for God’, one of the best stories written by me. The story contains a dialogue among the people who hold differing views on religion and God. There is a priest who makes strong arguments in favour of religion while an atheist sitting opposite him in a running train has a disagreement with him and puts forward cogent reasons why religion is not a solution but a major social problem. Their conversation slowly turns to God which causes two boys from different religion to bicker over it. An author, meanwhile, intervenes and tries to clear up the misconception they have by defining God and analysing the boon and the bane of religion.
