The Hermit & His Disciples

Image
When I was a little school boy, my granddad used to tell me the fable of ‘The Hermit & His Disciples’. One day I was reclining on my sofa, deep in thought, the old story suddenly came to my mind. I thought to retell it in a better way and then to translate it into English. Click on the link below and enjoy the most entertaining and didactic fable: http://www.galaxyimrj.com/V3/n2/Ramesh.pdf ‘Those who learn from their own mistakes are successful persons, but those who also learn from the mistakes of others are greats. However, a person with any amount of information cannot be called an intellect unless he puts that into practice.’ –Acharya Kautilya

From Artificial to the Real

Image
Putting in considerable effort to compose this poem, I dedicated it to the Respected Prime Minister on Monday, 11 August 2014. When the grandeur of Redfort began to fade rapidly With the developing cracks in walls and ceilings, Worried did he grow seriously. Utterly repellent the Self-seeking oligarchy found responsibility; They kept drinking beverages of power with half-closed eyes,  And got too sloshed to listen to him or to make a choice wise.    Not knowing what to do, Redfort cried, “You reckless sons of mine, Do you realize my life is on the line? Look, you invite your enemies to besiege me! Don’t you see how Toms are out to tease me?” But his voice was blocked by the fog of money. “I’m partly taken over,” he shouted again.  “Wake before I’m invaded again.” Everyone was deafened By the sweet notes on the flute that the impostor blew. What was wrong poor Redfort now knew. He rummaged around And a brave son in a c...

NaMo Inventive

Image
I composed ‘NaMo Inventive’ on Sunday, 04 May 2014. Let’s love our fathers, tireless workers, Ambitious traders, diligent farmers; Let’s love our mothers, soil fertile, Healthy cows, safe sweet domiciles; Let’s love our sons, the brave big Army, Invincible fighters, the sea king Navy; Let’s love our daughters, rich harvest, Advanced technology, power crest; Let’s love our brothers, candid natives, Statesmen wise and NaMo inventive – So we leave our competitors way behind, Open opportunities for our talents to shine, Make the world recognize our might, And pave our way through a future bright. -         Ramesh Tiwari

NaMo Big Bird

I wrote “NaMo Big Bird” on Saturday, 22 February 2014. NaMo Big Bird Religion makes our lives sweet, If guided by its pious beliefs. But we, to make our nation great, Must live in concord with our faith. Like a big tree is our country; We, its leaves of integrity; Various governments are its roots. Mutual help does bring new shoots. Rotten is the root That does not delve into the earth And find more and more food. Rotten is the root That does not feed the tree On each drop of sucked up juice. Rotten is the root That tempts the trunks and Puts them in contention for the ooze. Let us eat and drink and grow together, Share our dreams and hopes together, Send messages of peace to the world; Come on, let’s flock with NaMo Big Bird.                                             -   Ramesh Tiwari

NaMo Divine Idea

Image
I scribbled these lines on Sunday, 16 February 2014 to tell the country that it is Shri Narendra Modi who has the master plan for development and the reform of the economy. NaMo Divine Idea Whether it be Archimedes, Newton or Edison, Kabir , Soor, Tulsi, Shakespeare or Tennyson, Whether it be Mahatma, Mandela or Martin, Rousseau, Marx, Plato, Kautilya or Lenin,  None were taught their ideas in classrooms. To reform humanity thus the divinity booms. Mayhem, misuse ending the system unruly, Hope, health, happiness bringing life orderly, Bent on waking the Lion is NaMo divine Idea. With ‘NaMo, NaMo, NaMo’ reverberates India. -        Ramesh Tiwari

The Shifting Heart

I have seldom seen a man who has never fallen victim to a shifting heart. The Shifting Heart It’s been a long time Since I loved someone – Since our childhood, Since I first saw her. And I do not know If the Earth has ever created Another beauty. Anyway, not once, not twice – I am sure – But several times, She has loved me, too. - Ramesh Tiwari   21/04/2012
