Statue of Unity
The most venerated Home Minister, Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel, took over 565 independent states within India. When Shri Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister, he organised a Run for Unity as a tribute to 63rd Anniversary of his death on 15 December 2013 and had soil and iron collected from all parts of India so that the highest Statue of Unity could be erected at the River Narmada in Gujarat in memory of the Angel of territorial integrity. This poem was written on 31st October 2018 when the Prime Minister inaugurated the Statue in commemoration of 143rd anniversary of the birth of Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel. We have for so long worshipped fake ones, Giving them all the credit for Independence.
