Mahila Mahavidyalaya

Image
One day I visited the Principal of Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Bahraich. She was very busy in her office, so she asked me to take only a few minutes to tell her what was my concern. I gave her a copy of Snippets of Life Music. ‘Madam, you have been a professor of English,’ I said. ‘I’d like to take this opportunity of asking you to read this book. I’ll come back next week to know if it appealed to you and you think it is useful for your students.’ ‘Okay,’ she replied. When I went to see her again next time, she greeted me very cordially and went all praises for me. ‘Your book is a good read, well worth reading,’ she said with a gentle smile. ‘It impressed me with its deep thoughts expressed in elegant simplicity. It is entertaining is one thing, but since it suggests lots of good ideas in well-structured sentences, it is useful for a variety of purposes.’ She paused for a moment and then pressed the bell. A boy came in. ‘Go and tell the librarian to come to me here,’ she said to him. You kno...

Enjoy the first flush of young love with intense feelings of pleasure and excitement which the best drug of the world cannot produce. Just feel the teenage love that starts instantly but lasts long. Experience the storms of passion and ardour in hearts but forbidden to express: the torment of the restrictions on dating.   For fear of being watched he stole a glance; Then again and coveted one more chance. Their accusing eyes were fixed on his face. He pretended not to notice, staring into space.    Drink up the bottle of beauty he did yearn, His pain was great but suffering unseen. Walls of Hesitation is an exquisitely written love story. When something bad is bound to happen to someone, he listens to none, nor does he use his own discretion. This is something that happens to the narrator of this story. Now read a charming and uplifting teenage love story 'Walls of Hesitation' that has been taken from my book 'Snippets of Life Music' Jay left his office late on a su...

You dilly-dally?

Image
The story, You dilly-dally?, represents procrastination as the cause of a lot of trouble. The narrator has to purchase an electric fan and a takht with which to relax in the summer evenings. Every day he goes to his office with a determination that he will come back home with them, but as he reaches there he becomes too busy with his work to think of buying them. Finally, when he leaves his office, he forgets all about what he had decided to do and on arriving home he not only suffers the sultry weather but also listens to his wife’s bitter reproaches. One day the situation gets one bad. He delays to cash a cheque until a later time and consequently, he has to escape a series of humiliating incidents which ultimately taught him a lesson that he will ever be careful about anything that has to be done, no matter whether it is important or not. Now read a wonderful story 'You Dilly-dally?' that has been taken from my book 'Snippets of Life Music'  Summers are now not what ...

Oh don't Touch the Flower

A masterpiece in a museum came into sight; I drank each drop of it with my thirsty eyes. I felt the presence of someone caring, kind; Soon the icon percolated through my mind And was strongly imprinted on my memory I cherish and indulge in the magic of reverie. To have the image only I am more delighted Than the one who the masterpiece abducted.                                                                       -Poet Ramesh Tiwari I have never committed an act of theft in all my life except for one occasion when, in my teens, I could not help stealing a picture of someone I would never like to forget. Read Anushree-Kavitaen and know whose picture it was.
