Stay Alert to Some Big Change

When justice is ignored,

When faith and values derail,

When decency is disgraced,

When truth tastes bitter,

When heart sleeps and mind wakes

And when man loves not man but wealth and power,

Stay alert to some big change.

Smiling green plants, take care not to burn yourself –

The sparks are landing here and there

On the different fields of dry hawthorn hedges.
