India is lame in one leg

India is lame in one leg;

Bones are broken in the other three.

Now India is hungry -

It is chewing the plants of poppies

That they fling at it. 

India wants to jump higher -

Often it is battered unconscious.

The infection is creeping up

Through the blood.

India is ill but it knows not if it is.
