A Prayer to Gurudev
A green, green garden we entered,
Glorious though, we felt disturbed
Because of fear of the unknown.
It looked like some alien zone.
Names of flowers, trees and plants
We learnt from our dads and moms.
The world in classrooms then unveiled;
Life engaged us in its field.
All was dark yet all was dark,
Course mysterious, no spark
Until we bathed in thy light,
In thy beauty blessed and bright.
To thy feet, we make deep bows.
Make us bloom like morning rose.
O Gurudev, O the soul divine!
Shade us by thy hand benign.
