The Scheduled Caste

They say that people do not show respect for Brahmins now as they used to because Brahmins have been falling into decadence for years. In my opinion it is but an ideological reason for that because people are respectful only to those who have authority or who they think can benefit them in one way or the other. Brahmins are intellectual race, so kings and emperors that ruled the land felt their importance and employed them to deal with their administrative jobs and thus they were vested with significant power which ultimately made the people to be respectful to them like the politicians, irrespective of their caste and race, are kowtowed by the people today. Now that Brahmins enjoyed power for a long time, the people became habitual to be deferential towards them. Yes, they also bow down to Babas in saffron not because the god-men have strong moral conviction but because they are believed to have some magical powers to make life better and easier for their followers. Anyway, Brahmins or the intellectuals will not achieve real acceptance into the society as long as democracy survives. If any community that has benefited from the independence of the country, it is none but the scheduled and backward castes. They now enjoy full freedom of speech, special provisions that allows them to be put first; and what is more, every party is compelled to listen to them because they are now king makers. It is an irony that they are still the most aggrieved groups of people, expressing resentment at being treated badly by the governments which they elect, feeling bitter and disillusioned with the government whose members are none else but their own people, always in a way as though the governments were formed by the Brahmins only. Sometimes they support those that talk against the sovereignty and integrity of the country and stand by those who are double agents, a threat to the democracy itself. Truly speaking such complaints should come from the general classes who have been neglected since Independence as their population is not so large that they can be a deciding factor in forming a government, who, considering to the SC ST Act, cannot dare to speak against a member of reserved category and who often fall prey to this fatal act. 

These larger groups of people in the country have been electing or overthrowing a government and at the same time they have loved only those candidates who are from their own community, but the irony is that it is none else but they who harbour deep resentment against the system, against the democracy and against the general classes and not against the politicians whom they elect and who after gaining power, pass decisions in favour of the moneyed gangs, forgetting their own brothers, obviously with a view to making individual wealth and raising their own status. It has been such a long time and if they could not get to their feet, they will never be able to stand on their own. Perhaps they never like to condemn the politicians because mostly they belong to their own caste and community – so full of casteism they are, or perhaps the leaders of their own community stuff hatred for the upper castes into their minds by making them recite the gone by history, the Manubaad, the Samantbaad and so, so they could not see how they exploit them for their own advantages. What a joke - these people campaign on the slogans: ‘jaativaad se azadi’, ‘brahamanbad se azadi’ and swear at the sons of Mother India, who make the supreme sacrifice for the safety of these foul-mouthed folks! Their hatred will bring this democracy to an end and haters will ultimately become lovers, for they do not know how to enjoy privileges provided to them by the democracy. The democratic system is degenerating year by year – wait this democracy will not last long. The haters have taken to join hands with impostors and are doing their best to invite some cruel dictator and the days are not far off now when there will be some brutal monarch ruling the country who will not listen to their logic.

मैं जानता हूँ कि आरक्षण प्रजातंत्र के हित में है | फिर भी सरकार कौन बनाता है - आरक्षित वर्ग ही तो | सरकारें भी देखो किसकी हैं ? यदि अभी भी घृणा समाप्त न हुआ, यदि आरक्षित वर्ग के केवल कुछ लोग आरक्षण का बार-बार लाभ अपने पिछड़े भाइयों के हक को मारते हुए लेते रहे उनके लिए कुछ त्याग नहीं कर सके तो इसमें किसका दोष है ? इसी वर्ग का सबसे बड़ा भाग उनको वोट देता है जो केवल इनकी भावनाओं से खेलते हैं लाभ के नाम पर कुछ नहीं देते | हाँ सामान्य वर्ग से कैसे घृणा किया जा सकता है उसका प्रचार करते हैं और उसकी आड़ में अपनी रोटी सेकते हैं | जब तक ये घृणा में होश खोए रहेंगे तब सब कुछ हाथ से निकल जाएगा |

आज राजनीतिक स्तर पर कुछ जातिवर्ग के साथ जानबूझ कर पिछड़ी लगाने वाले लोगों के संगठन बने हुए हैं जो केवल बीते इतिहास के अगड़े कहे जाने वाले लोंगों से घृणा करने की शिक्षा देते हैं, प्रतिक्रिया स्वरूप अगड़े भी पिछड़ों के साथ उसी भाषा में व्यवहार करते हैं | यह सब इसलिए किया जाता है ताकि एक वोट-बैंक तैयार हो और कुछ लोग धन और सत्ता का उपभोग कर सकें | मनुवाद, सामंतवाद और न जाने कितने वाद हैं जो उन्हें रोज रटाये जाते हैं | उनके हृदय में विष भरा जाता है | यह राष्ट्र के लिए अच्छा संकेत नहीं है | ये तथाकथित नेता पुराने सामंतवाद की याद दिला-दिला कर खुद के द्वारा किए जा रहे सामन्त शाही पर बड़ी चतुराई से परदा डालने में भी सफल हैं | सच यह है कि सत्ता जिसके हाथ में होती है वही सामन्त हो जाता है | आज भी सामन्त वही है जिसके हाथ सत्ता है और पिछड़ा वह है जो जनता है | आँख खोलकर देखो तो दिखेगा कि आज जो शोषित हैं वे सभी जाति के हैं और जो शोषण कर रहे हैं वे भी सभी जाति के हैं | आज जातिवादी राजनीति देश के शरीर में संक्रामक रोग है - देश अस्वस्थ है और आगे बढ़ नहीं पा रहा है |

जब कन्हैया कहता है ‘जातिवाद से आज़ादी’ ‘ब्राह्मणवाद से आज़ादी’ तब क्या वह देश को जातिवाद से मुक्त करने का इरादा रखता है ? जब कन्हैया को केवल रोहित वेमूला ही याद आता है तब क्या वह जातिवाद से आज़ादी चाहता है ? देश को आज़ाद हुए लगभग 70 वर्ष होने को हैं तब से आरक्षण सहित अन्य विशेषाधिकार की नागरिकता का लाभ उठाते हुए भी कन्हैया आज़ाद नहीं हुआ तब और कौन सी दुनिया बनी है जहाँ पर वह आज़ाद होगा ? देश से सारे व्यापारियो को निकाल देने से कन्हैया आज़ाद होगा क्या ? देश की सीमा पर लड़ रहे सामान्य वर्ग के देश प्रेमी सैनिको को देश से निकाल देने पर कन्हैया आज़ाद होगा क्या ? इतने वर्षों के प्रजातंत्र में यदि कन्हैया आज़ाद नहीं हुआ तब वह अब कभी आज़ाद नहीं होगा | हाँ, कन्हैया शायद तब आज़ाद होगा जब वह भी बड़ा नेता बन जाएगा | कन्हैया तब आज़ाद होगा जब पूरा देश बंगाल या नेपाल बन जाएगा | कन्हैया देश को गुमराह मत करो – तुम देश को आज़ाद नहीं उसे पूर्व की तरह क्रूर शासकों के हाथों में सौप देने की तैयारी कर रहे हो | तब न तुम्हें कोई विशेषाधिकार होगा न बोलने की इतनी स्वतंत्रता कि जब चाहो प्रधान मंत्री सहित तिरंगे का भी अपमान करो | अपनों को गाली सभी दे लेते हैं दूसरो को कुछ कहने में घुटने हिलते हैं – याद रखो !

आरक्षित वर्ग को इतिहास जानबूझकर इसलिए रटाया जाता है ताकि वे वर्तमान देख न सकें | जिस पक्षपात की वे बात कर रहें हैं उसे कर कौन रहा है ? मैं फिर कह रहा हूँ सरकार में कौन है ? कौन उन्हें ध्यान नहीं दे रहा है ? सरकार वे बनाते हैं फिर सरकारें उनका काम क्यों नहीं करती ? एक दो राज्य छोड़ दीजिए सभी जगह वे ही लोग हैं ? फिर किस बात की शिकायत ? हम सामान्य वर्ग के लोग न सत्ता में हैं और न ही हम सत्ता बनने-बिगड़ने में कोई भूमिका रख सकते हैं, हम तो ढूँसम-ढूँस सामान्य बोगी के यात्री हैं, हमें तो बैठने की भी जगह नहीं है – आप लोगों के लिए चेयर कार, स्लीपर बर्थ आरक्षित है फिर हमसे किस बात की शिकायत ? मैं पुनः कह रहा हूँ आरक्षित वर्ग ही के लोग जब सत्ता प्राप्त कर लेते हैं तब उन्हें अपनी सूझती है भाइयों की नहीं | उन्हें भी धनी अच्छे लगते हैं और धनी उन्हें खुश करके अपनी दुकान चलाते हैं इसलिए सार्वजनिक सूबिधाएँ केवल पैसे वालों के लिए हैं | एक बार फिर बताना चाहूँगा कि यदि इस स्थिति में भी संतुष्ट न हुए तब और इससे भी अधिक अनुकूल स्थिति तो शायद ही आवे | इसलिए देश के प्रजातंत्र की सुरक्षा के लिए, देश की सुरक्षा के लिए, देश की अखंडता के लिए संघर्ष करो | देश पर बुरी नीयत रखने वालो को हतोत्साहित करो | एक हो, भारत माँ से प्यार करो और यदि घृणा ही करनी है तो देश द्रोहियो से करो |
