Bioscope
In my childhood peddlers used to go village to village to sell bioscope shows. When they played damaru, we would rush out of our houses with a bowlful of grain with which to pay for a show. The peddler would put the projector (a wooden box with one or two lenses on the top or on the side of it) on a three-legged stand and we would fix one of our eyes on the cap of a lens which made the pictures in the box look a bit larger. He then started to rotate the twin rotors with a handle, singing a song: Dilli ki Kutub-meenar dekho. It was such a pleasure, and exotic thing, an exciting experience. I cannot describe how entertaining it was. A good book is a bioscope for a scholar. Now #SnippetsofLifeMusic is available at a considerably lower price. The price is reduced from Rs 275 to Rs 215. Get your copy of the second edition today and enjoy reading wonderful short stories.
