I was born in an educationally backward village, Umari Dahelow, District - Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh (India) in 1964. I work for Life Insurance Corporation of India, which is the only source of my livelihood, and my favourite pastime is reading books and writing prose, poetry and fiction in English. My works have been published by a few leading publishers: one of my essays appeared in ‘Reading Hour’, Bangalore; one, in the RML Avadh University Journal, five short stories and a poem in ‘The Criterion: An International Journal in English’, five short stories in Galaxy: International Multidisciplinary Research Journal and one short story in LANGLIT. Earlier I had been writing in Hindi and my works in Hindi had appeared in a good many magazines and news papers. My works include the study of the complex nature of the human mind, of ideals with which better human relationships are possible and of different sources that provide man with numerous ideas about life and death and with material that can satiate the varied tastes of man.
