The Nepal Earthquake

Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi is a man of decision and action. If it were the UPA government today, Nepal would not have said ‘Thank you India’ because they could have taken minimum three days in deciding anything and by then the Aid would no longer have been required in the changed situation. India is proud of its PM as his quick decision has made a world of difference to the earthquake victims of Nepal.  

When we think of the modern science, we are puffed up with pride. Sometimes, we think that we can tame nature. Sometimes, we are so ambitious that we think to rule the world and develop our colonies on some other planet. But the Nepal Earthquake shows how helpless are we in the hands of nature. Today no house is left undamaged. Walls and roofs are cracked. One cannot feel safe to stay in any of them. No shop open- nothing is there to eat. Torrential rain and strong winds combine to make condition terrible for the people sitting helplessly in the open air. Man, be man and not God. Man, love man and do not forget the Father who keeps all. Man, bow down to Him and beg a safe life. Man, help your brothers in Nepal!

An earthquake is absolutely a new experience to many of us and therefore strange and entertaining. But just think of the relatives of those who have perished in it or even of those who have witnessed the disaster. We express our heartfelt condolences to the families of the people who died in the Nepal Earthquake! May God give them strength so they could bear up the difficult situation and may the departed rest in peace! 

एक बार बचपन में भूकंप आया था जब छप्पर हम लोगों के उपर गिर गया था और हम लोग किसी तरह से उसमें से निकले थे | आज दो बार फिर आया है | आफिस का मेज और कम्पूटर साथ में मेरी कुर्सी हिलने लग गयी तो मुझे और कुछ न सूझा | 'भागो !' बोलकर में बाहर निकल गया | उसके बाद सारे लोग सड़क पर दिखाई पड़े | थोड़ी देर में मुझे चक्कर सा आने लग गया |

The part of Uttar Pradesh like Bahraich /Sravasthi, which is at the line where the Himalayan range of Nepal and the vast northern plains of India join, or which is at the southern extremity of the mountain range, has been reported safe from the Nepal earthquake because of the two holy rivers, Maa Saryu and Maa Gnaga. These two rivers have been preparing a thick bed of sand underneath the towns and cities of this area. Today this bed has absorbed all the shocks of the earthquake. 

केदारनाथ आपदा के कारणों पर अगर ध्यान दिया जाय तो पूरी घाटी में पर्यटन व्यसाय से जुड़े भवनों पर नज़र जाती है | सैकड़ों की संख्या में होटलों का अंबार | देवादिदेव महादेव में जिसकी श्रद्धा है वह और जिसकी नहीं है वह भी वहाँ पर्यटन पर जा रहा है | अधिकतर तो हिमालय की बादियों में मनोरंजन के उद्देश्य से वहाँ जाने लग गये थे | सरकार को क्या उसे तो पर्यटन व्यसाय से पैसा चाहिए था |
ध्यान दें, काठमांडू की आपदा केदारनाथ आपदा से मेल खाती है | काठमांडू में भी भगवान पशुपति नाथ की ज्योतिर्लिंग है | यहाँ भी पर्यटन के साथ मौज मस्ती का व्यवसाय अपने चरम पर पहुँच चुका था | होटलों और व्यावसायिक भवनों की तो लाइन लग गयी थी | यहाँ भी एक भी भवन सुरक्षित नहीं बचा है और केदार बाबा में भी सारे होटल बह गये थे |

भगवान भोले नाथ तपस्वी और संयमित स्वाभाव के हैं | उन्हें अनैतिकता से जुड़े व्यसाय से शक्त परहेज है | समर्पण, संयम और सम्मान के साथ उनका दर्शन कल्याणकारी है परंतु अहंकार, अपमान और अनैतिक उद्देश्य के साथ उनका सानिध्य विनाशकारी है |
