Highest Honour

The immortal leader, prominent statesman, fabled poet and our 10th Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Bajpai, has ever been creative; he is known for his high-minded principles as it was he who could win the hearts of both his supporters and detractors and influence the houses of Indian Parliament by his consultative, inclusive and participatory governance. The whole world acknowledges his greatness as a statesman but Congress could never see the recognition he had achieved. They conferred the highest civilian honour on Sachin Tendulkar, quite ignoring him. I do not mean the well-known cricketer did not deserve that – I mean the highly acclaimed politician, the role model for the world of politics also deserved Bharat Ratna. Later our worthy PM Sri Narendra Modi took this wise decision and now again he has shown his broad-mindedness by recommending Sri Pranab Mukherjee, a life long Congressman, along with music legend Bhupen Hazarika and social activist Nanaji Deshmukh for the precious award. Our former President Pranab Dada really deserve it, for his valuable contribution to the country cannot be overlooked, but it is Congress that closed the eyes to Sardar Patel, its own prominent party leader, and it is not amazing that it would always treat Dada with disdain, too. Yes, if you ask who the jewel of India is, they would soon name Sonia Gandhi, reputed to be a Hindu-hater, the only person worthy for the highest honour.

Acknowledgement

Acknowledgement

I have been writing this book for the past ten years and now it is time to make a formal acknowledgement to all those who have helped me with it over the years.
I am deeply indebted to my employer, Life insurance Corporation of India, for their continued and growing support.
I would also like to acknowledge my debt to Awadh University and Kisan Degree College at which I was educated.
I owe a great debt of gratitude to Ms Vandana Bhatia Palli, Director, Highbrow Scribes Publications, who managed to arrange the manuscript of my stories in a beautiful way, to dress it in a gorgeously designed cover and finally to give it a book shape. Her team members have left no stone unturned in the zeal with which the book is the only one of its kind. Their highly valued support deserves my grateful thanks.
Finally my warmest thanks go to my family and friends for all their help and encouragement throughout the years.

DEDICATION

DEDICATION
TO OUR HIGHLY ESTEEMED GURUDEV
SWAMI PARAMANAND GIRI JI MAHARAJ

On the morning of January 8th, 2009, in a room of Dalmiya Dharamshala in Bahraich, Gurudev was preaching to a group of his disciples sitting on the carpeted floor next to his bed. After they had left the room, he turned to me. “It looks like you wish for something,” he said gently. “Gurudev, give me the ability to create some unique works of literature,” I replied. He soon blessed me by writing the following word on the first page of my note book:
Things changed with that event. It seemed as though I had started to have some divine revelations. I started writing stories one after the other and it engaged me so passionately that everything else became secondary to me. People from different parts of the world come to Gurudev with things in which they see him take delight. As a testimony of my devotion to his godly self, I now return his gift to me in the form of the book, Snippets of Life Music, which is the most precious thing among all that I possess.

4th Alumni Meet of Thakur Hukum Singh Kisan PG college, Bahraich

It gave me a great pleasure to attend the grand occasion of 4th Alumni Meet of our Thakur Hukum Singh Kisan PG college, Bahraich. I am extremely grateful to the Association’s Secretary, Dr Vivek Dixit for inviting me. Our worthy MLA and Minister Smt Anupama Jaiswal has been elected as the President of the Alumni Association of the college today. She was greeted with loud cheers while addressing the conference. Principal Shri S. P. Singh and the Chairman of the college’s managing committee, Shri Jata Shanker Singh welcomed the former students of the college and and expressed their happiness over their achievements. A series of cultural events were organized with arts performed by the students of the college. The students who secured highest marks were awarded different prizes and mementos.

Being an ex-student of the college, I am proud of it and owe a great deal to it and to the learned lecturers who made me able to write two books that gained me wide recognition. When I visit the college, every wall of it, the lawn, the rooms speak to me and remind me of those golden college days.

I graduated in Hindi, English and Economics from the college in 1984 but I completed a master’s degree in English Literature after twenty years from this same college in 2004. My return to education after a long gap awakened a new love for learning in me. I studied English grammar and then got into the habit of reading different literature books, which later inspired me to write prose, poetry and fiction in English.

My works have been published by a few leading publishers like ‘Reading Hour’, Bangalore, ‘The Criterion’, ‘Galaxy’, ‘LANLIT’ and ‘The Bombay Review’. I wrote a poem commemorating our treasured statesman, Sri Atal Bihari Bajpai. A bilingual journal, Setu from Pittsburgh USA, has published it in its October 2018 Issue.

Recently, Vishwabharati, a well-known publishing house in Maharashtra, has published my book ‘Trishna-Thirsty Wings’, which is a staggering collection of 44 poems. 18 poems of the book give a fascinating insight into PM Narendra Modi’s clean and bright character, his devotion to the cause of the people of India and his revolutionary ideas on energetic nation-building policies. The rest of them cover a range of subjects, like: politics, nationalism, faith, humanity and love.

One more book under the title Snippets of Life Music is going to come out this month. It brings together twenty irresistible short stories and twenty five ingeniously scripted short-short stories by me. I have tried to take the reader into a world that is both surreal and real in clear and simple prose. The stories in the collection cater for all groups of readers. They unlock certain secrets of human life, convey wonderful information in a simple but surprisingly entertaining way, present practical solutions to some common problems, deal with spiritual and religious issues, open a world of fantasy and horror, expose the corrupt practices that exist within the system, send sweet pain of love and romance shooting up a passionate heart, thus intriguing and enthralling readers and tickling their imagination. Moreover, they leave an indelible impression, since they kindle feelings that are sure to stay with the audience for days. Sunday, 13 January 2019

10% Reservation

Now reservation will be extended to 60 percent through constitutional amendment proposal. The Modi Cabinet grants 10 percent reservation for economically deprived upper caste people. Our heartfelt thanks to you good great Modi ji. Long live our worthy Prime Minister! Long live the Modi Government!
10 percent reservation to the economically vulnerable general class is hailed by all social classes across the country as victory of the poor and deprived. It will boost the confidence and courage of those young people who had lost all hopes and also open the door of opportunities for the poorer people from already reserved categories. Now the Prime Minister has proved that his government is concerned about "Inclusive growth by collective efforts".

Reservation was meant to equalize social status and not economic status. Now the general view about it has changed to focus on one’s economic condition only because the rate of unemployment has become the most potent of political issues. However, the reservation policy could not produce the results as was expected, but rather it has always added fuel to the hate literature and politics. SP, BSP and many other regional parties are the sons and daughters of this reservation policy. Jobs are decreasing with the rapid digital and technological change and in contrast with it the country has extremely high growth of population. Days are not far ahead when the society will neuter the reservation itself because 5 people will not enjoy lucrative jobs when 95 are struggling to make ends meet.

Lok Sabha passed the historic Bill that provides 10% quota to the poorer section of unreserved people by majority votes. It will be taken up by Rajya Sabha tomorrow. PM Modi's a stroke of genius today. There are loud cheers from across the country.

Rajya Sabha too passed the landmark Bill that permits the economically weaker general class 10% reservation in government jobs and education. The previously unreserved people are grateful to the Modi Government and also to the honourable members of the upper house who voted in favour of it. Now the People from all parts of India greets the venevolent Prime Minister with great delight. He earns considerable kudos for the way he made the impossible possible. A hero’s welcome to PM Shri Narendra Modi!
