Long ago I set off for a journey
To an unknown world:
A happy walk around my home,
Then a reluctant but mischievous march
Between home and school,
Now a heavy race
Between home and office.
I don’t know where to go
But I know I’ve come a long way -
Through the hills
Across the desert, plains and sea.
I must look back to see
If the way behind me is
Clean, safe and clear for
Those who follow me.

The Two Convictions

There have been two sorts of religions on the earth since civilization originated: one of them introduced the reason why one should live a peaceful and happy life and not die a violent death, and the other explained the reason as to why one should live for a particular set of beliefs and also die for it. These two convictions created a permanent base for human activities and war. Eventually, the great authors of the world found central themes for their big works like purans and epics in which gods or goddesses are shown to be fighting with demons, whereas it is God who nourishes both gods and demons.
